So this year at Alpine Village, our apartment had the pleasure of becoming super good friends with the most quality apartment of boys ever. So they took us to Lake Powell the day Spring Finals got over and lets just say it was probably the funnest part of my summer, it seriously was amazing!!
We left right after finals and I slept most of the way down. We stopped a few times to eat or go to the bathroom but it was a fun ride down full of lots of singing... haha!
This was at a restaurant we ate at on the drive down :)
So we get down to Powell but got there later than we had planned and the dock was already closed, but we just went through the cones and went down anyways. Then of course the boat wouldnt work... haha we got off to a great start. Lucky for us Adam is a little mechanic and was able to fix it and we still made it to the house boat that night.

This is basically a great summary of our trip... this boat was small and we always had way too many people and way too much stuff in it. We were always so packed we couldnt move. But it just added to the fun and hilariousness of the trip!
So that night it was late so we just slept on top of the houseboat and talked and went to bed. Then the next day the fun began. Pretty much every day we would just go out on the boat and go to sweet places and jump off cliffs and climb up things and swim and jam out in the boat. We really did that most of the time, but with all of us there things were ALWAYS entertaining and hilarious. Seriously, we were so lucky to be there with that group of guys because they were so hilarious.
One of the jokes of the trips was all the food. Abbey did the shopping and lets just say that she went a littttle bit overboard. We. Had. So. Much. Food. And she got random stuff. For example, the joke we still say is that we have 97 sleeves of ritz crackers and 47 cherry poptarts. Haha it was funny though.
So the first 3 nights we slept on a houseboat which was way nice and fun. Then the last night the boys talked us into packing all of our stuff up and only wearing our swimsuit and bringing like a pillow and sleeping bag and just going and finding a sweet beach somewhere far away and just camping out. So after a little convincing they totally have us all pumped up and ready to do it.
So we pack up all the stuff and head out on the boat and pretty much it took us an hour to go what would have usually taken 10 min because it was storming and the waves were so intense. We were FREEZING and EVERYTHING on the boat got completely soaked (keep in mind we had our pillows and sleeping bags on there... haha) So we just pull off onto the beach ever and just had to wait because it was so stormy we couldnt keep going.
So we are on this beach and the boys were like ok we're going to go explore. But all the girls werent super pumped about being on this beach so we were like well we're staying here. So we just lay down on this tarp with all our stuff and we had our eyes covered because sand storms kept coming and blowing into our eyes. So the girls start talking and we get into this super deep conversation and really just arent paying attention to anything. All of a sudden we see Adam SPRINTING towards us and i was just thinking like what the, why is he running so intensely towards us, then he just sprints into the water. And we look over and the boat has FLOATED AWAY!! We were like oh my gosh, we could not be bigger idiots, our only job was to watch the boat and we let it float away. And it was right by us. haha! So pretty much Adam starts swimming out there but the boat was already WAY far away and was floating further by the second, and the waves were way intense, and all the life jackets were on the boat so we see him turn back. Then this kid named Nelson who was with us who is in better shape goes swimming after and we are all just watching and are thinking like freak he's going to die. ha! So he is swimming out there and there is not one other boat on the lake. Then. Out of nowhere, here comes this boat so Adam gets a towel and starts waving it around and we are pointing to Nelson out in the water so the boat goes and picks him up, and drives him to our boat and then Nelson gets the boat and brings it back to the beach. So then it was pretty tense for a while... haha! Then after everyone thawed out a little, we could talk about it and started joking around again.
Then we found another sweet campsite that was like 10 min away and went there and it was super fun!!!!!! We just roasted mallows and told scary stories that night and it was way way fun! Then that next day we pretty much just hung out. We all went and sat by the water and made hemp bracelets and got into deep hilarious conversations and just bonded. haha, sounds cheesy, but it seriously was so good and fun! We went on this WAY long swim and jumped cliffs and stuff and that is when i became really close with Nelson and Jeff. Then me, kenz, nelson, jeff, and sara left that night and drove back to provo and it was the most entertaining, HILARIOUS, drive of my life!!! hahahah!
So pretty much, this was the greatest trip ever, and was exactly what I needed in my summer. I feel so bless to have met such amazing people, and to have such amazing, quality, happy, righteous friends in my life that care so much about me! It was amazing.
So we went to the temple at 10 am and waited for them outside and let me tell you... it was FREEZING!!! Seriously, so cold. They came out and it was super cute. Just the typical walk out of the salt lake temple. Then we took lots of pics but they did the friend pics last so we were lucky enough to get to stand out in the freezing coldness for another hour. My feet were honestly in so much pain. I cant even describe it. I was legitimately starting to get worried about frost bite. I touched my foot and i couldnt feel it at all and it was getting a red rash all over. I was concerned. But once we got in the car and got the heat cranked on them i somehow survived!
A few hours into the reception they moved everyone downstairs for dancing. Then the fun began. It broke out into this wild dance party down in the studio. We were kindof out of control but it was freaking fun not going to lie! We danced our hearts out (literally) for about an hour. Then the reception started coming to an end and we sent them off with floating lanterns, which didnt really work until after they were gone, but was way sweet!!
It was a perfect day, and i am so happy for my autumn marie!!!
We went to this place called "pearl" and we did a pole/chair dancing class that was freaking hilarious and fun!!! We did the pole portion first and it was actually super hard... like my arms were sore for days after haha.
